Coax earns its place on existing cable
If the building already has coax from an older analogue system, these cameras reuse it. You get 8MP over the run you already have, without pulling network cable through finished walls or across a live site. That is the case for coax. On new-build with no cable in place, an IP system is usually the better long-term choice.
Match the signal format to the recorder
These cameras output AHD, TVI, CVI or CVBS. Your recorder has to accept the format you send it. Sibell penta-brid DVRs take all four plus IP, which is what makes them straightforward to pair, but check the specific model before you commit — a camera and a recorder that cannot agree on a signal format will give you a blank channel and no obvious reason why.
Housing and lens
Six models cover the common shapes: bullets where the camera should be visible and the run comes along a wall, domes where it should sit flatter and less obtrusively, and a vandal dome where the housing needs to take a knock. Each shape comes with a fixed 3.6mm or 2.8mm lens, or a motorized 2.8–12mm. The same logic as IP applies — fixed for settled scenes, motorized where you want to frame after mounting or expect the space to change.
Check the run before you order
Coax distance, cable grade and existing joints all affect what resolution actually arrives at the recorder. An old run that carried an analogue signal adequately may not carry 8MP. Confirm the supported distance in the datasheet against the run you have, and test a channel before committing to the full install.
