Sibell recorder login and password recovery
What the default username is, why there is no universal default password, and what to do if it is lost.
The default username is admin
On Sibell recorders the system username is admin. That part is fixed and it is what you enter at the login screen unless additional users were created during setup.
There is no universal default password
This is the answer most people are looking for and it is worth being direct about: Sibell recorders do not ship with a published default password. The startup wizard requires you to set your own password the first time the unit is configured. Any list of generic CCTV default passwords you find will not apply, and that is deliberate — a recorder with a factory password printed in a manual is a recorder anyone can reach.
There is a second password you may not know about
The wizard also asks for a default password used to activate IP cameras. This is separate from your login password and it is the one that causes confusion later: cameras that will not come online on a recorder they should work with are often failing activation because that password does not match what the camera expects.
If the password is lost
Recovery depends on the model and firmware. Sibell recorder manuals cover this in the FAQ appendix, and the recovery route generally requires proof of ownership rather than a code anyone can look up. Contact the reseller with the recorder's serial number and model — Security Camera King handles this for Sibell equipment. Expect to demonstrate that the unit is yours; a support process that did not ask would not be worth much.
A note on resets
A factory reset restores settings but is not a way around a forgotten login on most units, because the reset itself is behind the login.
