How to enable P2P (NAT) on a Sibell recorder

Where the NAT setting lives, what the QR code is for, and what NAT2.0 changes.

P2P and NAT are the same setting here

Most recorder brands call this P2P. Sibell recorders label it NAT. If you are following a generic guide that tells you to find a P2P menu, the equivalent on a Sibell unit is Start → Settings → Network → NAT. There is no separate P2P page to hunt for.

Turning it on

Go to Start → Settings → Network → NAT, enable the function, and save. The screen shows the current NAT status and a QR code. Status is the part worth reading — an enabled setting with a status that never reaches connected usually means the recorder has no route out, so check the gateway and DNS under Start → Settings → Network → TCP/IP before troubleshooting anything else. On a recorder with built-in PoE ports, remember that the internal PoE network and the external network are separate interfaces.

What the QR code does

The QR code on the NAT screen encodes the recorder's identity so a mobile client can add it without typing a serial number. Scan it from the Server List inside the SuperLive Plus app. Keep the code off any photo you share publicly — it identifies your device.

NAT2.0 and the security code

Adding a recorder to a mobile app account, rather than just to the device list on one phone, needs NAT2.0 enabled on the recorder. You will be prompted for a security code during that process. This is the step most often missed when a device adds fine on one handset but will not appear after signing into the same account on another.

Enabling it during first setup

The startup wizard on a new recorder includes a QR code step where NAT can be switched on directly. If you skipped the wizard, or the unit was configured before you received it, the network configuration route above does the same job. Menu wording varies between recorder generations and firmware versions — check the manual for your exact model if the path differs.

Menu paths follow the Sibell recorder documentation. Wording and available options vary by model and firmware version — check the manual for your exact product, and confirm anything ambiguous with the authorized reseller before changing settings on a live system.
